Choice. As an independent broker, I can access a wide panel of lenders. That means I’m not limited to one bank’s products. I’ll tailor a solution based on your goals, not the bank’s agenda. Plus, I handle the behind-the-scenes work so you don’t have to.
The process starts with a conversation - no pressure, no jargon. We’ll discuss your goals, review your current position, and determine your borrowing capacity. From there, I’ll handle the strategy, comparisons, and paperwork to ensure the loan is structured right from day one. You’ll have one point of contact from start to finish - me.
It depends on your situation and the type of property, but most lenders require a minimum deposit of 5–10%. A 20% deposit helps you avoid Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI), though there are flexible options for Defence personnel, investors, and self-employed clients. We’ll map out your best path based on your financial goals and timeframe.
Once your documents are ready, most lenders take between 5 and 15 business days to issue conditional approval. Pre-approval can often be achieved faster. My role is to keep everything moving - communicating with the lender, your solicitor (and accountant if required), and agent to maintain momentum and remove friction from the process.
Pre-approval is the lender’s conditional “green light,” confirming how much you may be able to borrow based on your income, assets, and liabilities. It’s typically valid for up to 90 days, depending on the lender. Having pre-approval in place gives you clarity and confidence when negotiating on a property.
For most clients, there are no fees or charges for working with Maverick Wealth. I’m paid by the lender once your loan settles - this commission covers the time, advice, and administration involved in securing your finance. Commissions are paid by the lender and do not affect your loan interest rate or cost.
There are no hidden costs or surprises. If a particularly complex or specialised loan ever requires a small fee, you’ll know well in advance - upfront, transparent, and agreed before any work begins.
